My party girl is ONE! What a year it has been!
To celebrate this very special milestone for our sweet Chick, we held a small party at Brushy Creek Lake Park in her honor. And what better theme than a bird theme?
Happy Bird-Day to my very favorite little bird of all!
What's a party without food? Birds have gotta eat too!
The spread... Chickee salad sandwiches, owl bagels, gummy worms, and hummingbird nectar
Whoo doesn't like precious owl bagels?
After full tummies, Bart read a blessing over Chick from Zephaniah 3:14-17 and prayed for her. These are sweet moments in life.
Gigi holds Chick while Bart shares a few words
And now the moment we had all been waiting for... THE CAKE!
Pumpkin spice cake. A new fall fave for us!
Gigi and Chick pose in front of her cake
We were so thankful to have very special people in our lives celebrate with us! Bart's parents, my mom, my sister, some of Chick's sweet baby friends (I'm so glad that it just so happens that Bart and I get along so well with her friends' parents!), and J-man and his mom! The perfect company.

We are so proud of all that she has accomplished this year! She is a hard worker, very independent, and has a sweet spark about her. Chick has really come to embody the meaning to her middle name, which means "light". She certainly brings life and light to our lives and we are continually praying that she will do the same for other's by bringing God's light into dark places. These verses come to mind often when we pray this for her:
Nor do men light a lamp and put it under a peck measure, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all in the house. You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. (Matthew 5:14-15)
And now we embark on our journey into uncharted waters... toddlerhood! And I can't wait.
I am one blessed mama.
